Note that if you want upgrade XP to SP3 or install XPSP3 you need bootcamp ver. 9.0c so I didn't need to reinstall DX from the G4 discs. I finished with apple auto-update and RFG4 install, et voila.īootcamp is version 2.1 (latest) and directX supplied on the XPSP3 install disc is already ver. I installed windows XP SP3 via bootcamp, then the drivers supplied by apple on disc 1. My iMac is a core2duo 3,06GHz 4GB RAM with nVidia 8800GS/512MB VRAM (actually it is a 8800GT downclocked to match the GS specs). I am new here, I just want to report that I have bought RFG4 3 days agos and hopefully it is working fine on my iMac. I'm not sure about the AMD(ATI) cards, but I'd imagine there is something out there for the mobile folks.Īnyways, for the people having problems or slow running stuff, be sure to have the most up to date drivers. I also had to use a tweaked INF file from this website or I've also use the Omega drivers for my Macbook. After installing all the bootcamp drivers, the first website I go to is Nvidia's to download the latest drivers for my video card. I've noticed that the drivers that come with bootcamp are extremely old. I haven't tried anything with water, so I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure that all the settings are at default. G4 runs great!! No slowdowns, my FPS are well about 30, so I experience no lag. I have a Macbook Pro 2.4ghz, 2gigs of ram and a 8600GT (I think) I bought it in June 2007, and have bootcamp running XP SP3. I apologize in advance as this is probably my first post, but I felt compelled to chime it. All seems normal after booting except that's about the time G3.5 starts asking for serials again.īeing a long time Mac user this is all greek to me. Well after a period of time booting back and forth between OS X (leopard 10.5.4) and Vista Ultimate (SP1), all of a sudden I get a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper right hand corner and then the screen fills with a bunch of text and then it boots. There is also a countdown (30 secs) then it boots into vista. Vista business (recovered) and maybe others. Vista and G3.5 (plus a few other games (halo 2, halflife 2) installed) during boot, Vista goes to the screen where you choose the system you want Now I just need to find someone who can tell me why Vista keeps going into fallback after a short period of time. (sounds like I need to turn off user account control.) G3.5 works fine a few times then all of a sudden it asks me for all the serials again. I do have a couple of problems one of which may have been solved by reading here. My MacPro 3 ghz quad core x1900 with 4 gigs of ram runs G3.5 pretty well.
